Manganese and Nickel are included in smaller amounts in A335

carbon, 0.30 - 0.60 manganese, 0.025 sulfur and phosphorous, 0.50- 1.0 silicon, 8.00 - 10.00

Ferritic alloy steel pipe ASTM A335 gr P5 (ASME S/A335,
Chorme-Moly) is seamless and intended for use in high-temperature applications. The power
industry and petrochemical facilities can use alloy steel P5 pipe and P5 seamless pipe for
fusion welding as well as high-temperature applications including bending, flanging, and
similar forming operations. Due to the chemical composition of molybdenum (Mo) and chromium
(Cr), ASTM A335 P5 chrome moly pipe is another name for ASME SA 335 Alloy Steel
P5 Seamless Pipe. Molybdenum keeps the BS 3604 P1 625 Square Pipe strong while also
maintaining the elastic limit, wear resistance, impact characteristics, and hardenability.
